Hey, there were good intentions! The FineWoven case was pitched, just about a year ago, as a leather substitute, with Apple wanting us to buy cases made from 68 percent post-consumer recycled content. The material, however, turned out to be smooth and scratchy, easily marred by objects in a bag, making it a great opportunity for third-party iPhone case manufacturers. Unlike leather that develops a patina over time, the FineWoven case became scratchy and blotchy within days, leading to its discontinuation without new colorways or iPhone 16-compatible versions. The material lives on in a MagSafe wallet and more Apple Watch straps, offering new official iPhone aesthetics. Lastly, consider the Beats-themed iPhone 16 cases for a different look.
