The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has accused SpaceX of three safety violations for not following license requirements in two space launches in 2023. If fully fined, SpaceX could owe $633,009, as stated in an FAA statement. The violations occurred during the PSN Satria Mission on June 18, 2023, and the EchoStar XXIV/Jupiter mission on July 28, 2023. SpaceX made unauthorized changes to communication and site plans without FAA approval. Despite being informed that modifications were not approved, SpaceX proceeded with the launches. The company faces fines of $175,000 for the June 18 incidents and $293,009 for the July 28 violation. SpaceX has 30 days to respond to the accusations, either through an informal conference or by submitting additional information to the FAA. CEO Elon Musk plans to challenge the fines by filing a lawsuit against the FAA.
