The highly anticipated Prison Architect 2, the sequel to the 2015 cult hit, has been indefinitely delayed by its publisher, Paradox Interactive, due to internal reviews and beta testing feedback that highlighted performance and content issues that need attention. Originally set to release on March 26, the game has faced multiple delays as developers work to resolve memory usage and configuration problems. Paradox has opted not to set a new release date until these issues are addressed. The delay follows the negative reception of Cities: Skylines 2’s Beach Properties DLC, with players still awaiting patches for the main game released in 2023. Paradox will refund all pre-orders and remove the option to pre-order, instead adding the bonus content to the base game. The company acknowledges that improving the game’s deep systems will take time, with interconnected parts requiring adjustments. Players who purchased from Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam stores will need to go through those platforms for refunds, while Paradox will automatically reimburse those who bought directly from them.
