Teenage Engineering is known for creating bizarre gadgets that push the boundaries of description, from a $250 toy car to medieval-themed electronic instruments. Their latest creation, the EP-1320 Medieval sampler, is inspired by sounds from the middle ages, including Gregorian chants, lutes, and even a dragon. The design features red calligraphy and latin text, calling it the “world’s first medieval electronic instrument.” The sampler includes themed foley effects like sword slashes and screaming peasants, along with new effects like “torture chamber reverb” and “Bardic ensemble.” Despite some performance issues with previous models, the EP-1320 is available for $300 and comes with everything needed for a D&D-themed rave. Orders are open now, with accessories like themed t-shirts, vinyl records, and quilted carry bags also available for diehard fans.
