Apple is said to be introducing digital car key support in the Wallet app for select Volvo, Polestar, and Audi vehicles, expanding on their existing support for Kia, BMW, Lotus, and other manufacturers. This feature will allow iPhone and Apple Watch users to access, lock, or start their vehicles by simply holding their device near the car’s NFC reader, without needing to press any buttons. The discovery of this upcoming update was made by MacRumors in the backend of the Apple Wallet app, although specific details about affected models have not yet been disclosed.
