If you grew up during the era of the NES and SNES consoles, you may be thrilled to discover that one of the most epic video game crossovers since Marvel vs Capcom is now available on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo recently revealed the addition of four new SNES titles to its Switch Online service, including the 1993 beat ‘em up Battletoads/Double Dragon. This rare collaboration between the iconic trio of Battletoads and the martial arts duo of Billy and Jimmy Lee takes players on a wild journey through both games’ worlds as they battle hordes of enemies. The crossover storyline kicks off with the Evil Queen from the Battletoads’ universe striking a deal with the Shadow Boss from the Double Dragon universe to take over Earth with a massive ship called the Colossus. Zitz, Rash, and Pimple team up with the Double Dragons to intercept the ship and save Earth, leading to seven action-packed levels of intense combat. Additionally, the latest Switch Online game update introduces three more SNES games to the Nintendo Switch lineup, including the Tetris-inspired Cosmo Gang The Puzzle, the Jaleco rally racer Big Run, and the Super Famicon port of Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (It’s Kunio’s Dodgeball, Assemble Everyone!).
