Hideaki Itsuno, the director behind the Dragon’s Dogma series and other major games for Capcom, announced that he is leaving the company to start developing a new game in a new environment starting in September. Itsuno, who has been with Capcom since the ’90s, worked on popular series like Devil May Cry and created Dragon’s Dogma, with the latest installment, Dragon’s Dogma 2, selling over 2.5 million units within 10 days of its release earlier this year. It also reportedly broke Capcom’s Steam record for concurrent players on launch day. Itsuno expressed his gratitude for the support of Capcom’s games and characters, and shared his excitement to create new, memorable games in the future.
