Less than a week away from release, a new update for Mortal Kombat I (MK1) is set to bring new character skins, finishing moves, and eventually new fighters to the game. NetherRealm Studios previewed the upcoming “Khaos Reigns” pack, scheduled for release on September 24th, with a trailer showcasing what players can expect. The base game is priced at $49.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam, and $39.99 on Nintendo Switch. The Khaos Reigns DLC costs $49.99 and the Khaos Reigns Kollection bundle, including the base game and DLC, is priced at $89.99. The new add-on features a brand new story mode where Liu Kang faces off against the evil Titan Havik and introduces new fighters such as Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian. Ghostface’s fatality was teased in a preview clip, showcasing the character eviscerating an opponent. Additionally, animalities, a fan-favorite finishing move from Mortal Kombat 3, are making a comeback in MK1. Kitana’s animality was shared in a clip where she transforms into a giant hummingbird.
