After days of complaints about the way Threads enforces its rules, Meta has announced plans to rectify their mistakes in content moderation. Threads head Adam Mosseri acknowledged the issues and stated that changes have already been implemented to address the concerns raised by users. Specifically, Mosseri admitted that some accounts were penalized for using seemingly harmless words like “cracker” or “saltines,” attributing these mistakes to internal tools that lacked sufficient context for human moderators to make accurate judgments. Mosseri assured users that they are actively investigating and correcting these errors to provide a safer experience. Additionally, Threads users have expressed frustration over engagement bait on the platform, prompting Mosseri to pledge a fix for this issue as well.
