If the recent buzz about a video game set in the universe of 2022’s The Batman had you excited, I have some disappointing news: there is currently no such game in development. DC Studios’ co-head James Gunn shut down the rumors, stating, “Sadly there is no truth to this whatsoever.” The speculation originated from a report published on Friday. The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, made a return to theaters as part of AMC’s Batman 85th anniversary celebration, with work on a sequel currently underway. Additionally, an HBO limited series focused on The Penguin is set to premiere this fall. Despite all this, a video game spin-off is not on the horizon. Gunn also debunked another bizarre rumor about the song “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba being played on the set of Superman.
