Snap has been steadily increasing the amount of AI in its app since introducing its generative AI assistant, with the company now adding a new slate of AI-powered features as it tests a larger redesign. Features like “My Selfie” and the “grandparents lens” are being rolled out to Snapchat+ subscribers first, along with an AI feature in Memories and enhancements to the MyAI assistant. The new design aims to simplify and streamline Snapchat by combining conversations and Stories into a single view and eliminating separate sections for Snap Map and Spotlight. Snap plans to roll out the redesign slowly to a limited number of users, recognizing past struggles with major redesigns.
