The next Tron game, Tron: Catalyst, is a follow-up to Tron: Identity but offers a new experience as it transitions from a visual novel to an isometric action game with a looping narrative. Developed by Bithell Games, known for their award-winning games like John Wick Hex and Thomas Was Alone, Tron: Catalyst is set to release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch. Players will enter the Arq Grid, a virtual world teeming with sentient computer programs, as Exo, a program with the unique ability to exploit system glitches, uncover secrets, and thwart the sinister plans of the Grid’s rulers. Through combat, collecting data shards, and upgrading Exo’s identity disc, players will navigate a world where choices impact the unfolding narrative. With a text-based dialogue system and gameplay centered on exploring, influencing characters, and revealing new pathways through repeated loops, Tron: Catalyst promises an immersive, story-driven experience unlike any other. Published by Big Fan under the Disney umbrella, it showcases a unique blend of action, storytelling, and player choice that promises an engaging gameplay experience upon its release.
