Instagram has been blocked in Turkey due to a dispute over Hamas-related content on the platform, with the app being inaccessible in the country since Friday morning. According to Netblocks, an organization tracking internet and social media outages, Instagram has been restricted in Turkey. While Turkish regulators did not specify the reason for the block, reports suggest that it is related to the platform’s handling of Hamas-related posts. Despite this, Meta has not publicly commented on the situation. This is not the first time major social media services have been blocked in Turkey, as Twitter was briefly blocked last year following a devastating earthquake, and YouTube and Twitter were also blocked in 2014.
