Warner Bros. sends Cartoon Network’s website to the digital graveyard

Warner Bros. Discovery has removed Cartoon Network’s entire website from the internet, eliminating access to free episodes and interactive content. Visitors to CartoonNetwork.com are now redirected to the channel’s section on the subscription streaming network Max, as reported by Variety. Previously, the website provided free episodes and clips of popular shows like Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans GO!, and Steven Universe. Fans looking for these shows will now need to use Max, pay for them on another streaming service, or rely on physical copies. A spokesperson for Cartoon Network stated that the focus is shifting to shows and social media where consumer engagement is highest. This decision will not impact the network’s cable TV programming. The closure of Cartoon Network’s website follows the announcement by Warner Bros. Discovery to end its classic cartoon streaming service, Boomerang. Subscribers will be transitioned to Max’s ad-free tier at no extra cost. Paramount also recently removed old show episodes from its cable channels’ websites, including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report from Comedy Central, as well as free content from TV Land, CMT, and the Paramount Network.
